About Pressure Conversion

Pressure is force per unit area. The SI unit is the pascal (Pa): 1 Pa = 1 N/m². Standard atmospheric pressure at sea level is 101,325 Pa = 1 atm = 1.01325 bar ≈ 14.696 PSI ≈ 760 mmHg. Tyre pressure is measured in PSI (US), bar (Europe), or kPa (Australia/Canada). Blood pressure is universally reported in mmHg — 120/80 mmHg is the classic "normal" range for systolic/diastolic pressure.

Bar is common in European industry and meteorology; weather maps show pressures in millibars (1 mbar = 0.001 bar), with standard atmospheric pressure ≈ 1013 mbar. Deep-sea pressures at the Mariana Trench reach ≈ 1,100 bar (110 MPa). Aircraft cabins are pressurised to ≈ 75 kPa (equivalent to 6,000–8,000 ft altitude), lower than sea level to reduce structural stress on the fuselage. Semiconductor manufacturing uses high-vacuum systems at milliTorr levels.
